An update on us.

It's been a while. The c-section went well. Better than I could have imagined. Little O is now 2 months old and is sheer perfection. I can't stop kissing her. It breaks my heart to have to go back to work in a few weeks, but what can you do. Life goes on and the bills keep coming in.

J is getting used to being a big sister. We did have a few "send her back to the hospital" type moments. For the most part she loves her sister "berry much."

Amazingly, they are both sleeping right now. Yes, right now, at the same time. Let's see how long before they decide I have had enough me time...

Well there's laundry to be folded, cleaning to be done, and baking to be started. Not to mention Avon to be sold! Yes I'm feeling ambitious today.

C-section

I found out last night that I will be having a c-section the first week of April. I kind of knew it was coming and tried to prepare myself for it, but I guess I didn't do a good job. I'm totally freaked out and basically can't stop crying whenever I think about it. I know its stupid, since its the best thing for the baby (and probably me) and I trust my doctor completely. I know plenty of people who have had c-sections with no problems. It's just so stupid to be so upset by it.

This baby measured 6lbs 8oz at my ultrasound at 34 weeks. My first dd was 6lbs even at 36+ weeks. So this one is bigger and they were always right on with DD's weight. They estimated her at 8lbs 5oz at the ultrasound just before she was born and she was born at 8lbs 2 oz. I pushed for 4+ hours and she come out with the help of an episiotomy with a broken clavicle and spend the night and half the next day in the NICU to monitor her breathing and vitals which were a little sketchy. She also had a big purple bruise on her head for a while after birth. So I am pretty sure this is the best option for this baby, but I'm still really freaked out.

Doodle-isms

It's been way too long since I've posted anything. I just have a quick funny for today. I am SO busy and trying to get ready for maternity leave at work. Enjoy!

Doodle- Daddy's a grown up
Nonna- yes he is
Doodle- Mommy's a grown up too.
Nonna - yep, what am I?
Doodle- A grown up
Nonna - what about you?
Doodle - I'm a purple m&m!

Duh, Nonna, as if you didn't know that!

SweetPea

Well, I guess its time to announce that Doodle will be joined by a sister. We'll call her SweetPea. SweetPea is due to join the family in early-mid April. We found out that SweetPea was a girl about a week and a half ago.

J and I went to a routine ultrasound and took Doodlebug with us. We were lucky to get a fabulous tech that took her time and pointed out the baby to us and to Doodle. She pointed out that it was a girl. She also had Doodle help her print out a picture of her sister. She proceeded to carry that picture around for most of the day and point out her sister's eyes, ears, nose, etc.

I don't know if she really even understands what is going on, but I'm glad she is happy about it! Every now and then she will walk over and ask about her "sisser on the computer". I keep telling her that she needs a special computer with a special camera to look at the baby, but she still wants to see her.

Soon enough Doodle. Soon Enough.

Missing Moments

Clearly there have been a lot more moments than I have been posting! Unfortunately I have no excuses. I guess I'll just go from here and try to remember to post more when I can.
